Strix Discussion Forum

Mesh networking is a topic of much discussion in the wireless community. Mesh networks are being deployed in many environments, including by WISPs around the world to deliver broadband access for residential and business customers. Mesh networks are self organizing, self-configuring, self-tuning, and self healing – and designed to be scalable and secure. What is being discovered is that all mesh networks are not created equally. Many mesh implementations do not scale and deliver performance for a number of reasons including; selection of RF technology, single radio nodes, and inability to multi-hop and still deliver capacity.

Join Strix Systems, a leading developer of structured wireless mesh networking systems, and Connectronics, a specialty distributor of wireless solutions, for a discussion on high performance mesh networks, and how they have been successfully deployed by WISPs in environments around the world. We will look at criteria for selecting high performance mesh networking systems, designing and planning networks for capacity and performance, voice video and data over mesh networks, and other mesh networking subjects.
