WISP Financial M&A - the Buyers Talk
What are we looking for in a WISP?

Objective:
To discuss and formulate a valuation methodology for WISPs allowing operators to maximize the "resale value" of their networks.

Overview:
You’ve slaved for years, working long hours for a reduced salary in hopes of achieving the American Dream as a Small Business Owner. You think your network is “good enough”, but reality shows 9 out of 10 startups fail.  Should you be focusing on strategic tower locations?  Does having "home-brew" equipment reduce the value of your WISP?  How much more is a business customer worth than a residential customer?  Wouldn't you like to know that you are spending your time and money in the right places, ensuring that your efforts don't go wasted?

Bill McNamara, from Agility Solutions, wants to venture finance your WISP operation.

Marc Kruer, president of CTI, is a seasoned technology entrepreneur who, having recently purchased the assets of several operators, wants to buy your WISP.

NextWeb, a large WISP based out of CA, also wants to acquire your WISP, provided that the numbers work out.

This session, consisting of industry veterans who are actively financing and purchasing WISPs, will create a WISP financial statement and value it in hard dollars from an outright sale, merger/acquisition, and financing perspective.  Marketing 101 tells you that the easiest way to increase your value and price is to "satisfy the needs of your customer" - and if you ever want to sip cold drinks on a warm tropical island, it's best to understand what REAL buyers are looking for so that you continue building your WISP in the right direction.
